Bradley Robinson, the Austin-based pitmaster behind the popular Chuds BBQ YouTube channel, managed to sum up the Portland barbecue scene fairly well after a whirlwind trip in July 2024.
“If you’re after that Franklin Barbecue brisket, ribs, sausage, that crafty Texas barbecue, go to Matt’s,” said Robinson. “Whereas Grasslands is a little more like LeRoy and Lewis, where they do brisket once a week, they’re doing a lot of specials and putting a lot of care into their sides.”
