Chuckanut Brewery and Von Ebert Brewing have partnered to create Volatility West Coast Pils, a collaborative lager inspired by Von Ebert's flagship Volatile Substance IPA. Brewed at Chuckanut Brewery in Washington, the limited-release beer combines Rahr "To Thee! Pils" and Weyermann Barke Vienna malts with Mosaic, Mosaic Cryo, Strata and Spalt hops. The result is a crisp, bright-gold West Coast Pils featuring flavors and aromas of citrus, tart berries and subtle pine. Volatility is now available on draft at Chuckanut's Tap Room and will debut at Von Ebert Brewing's Mississippi Avenue location in Portland on June 25 at 5:30 p.m.

Hands across the water, this festival brings brewers from Oregon and Japan just a little bit closer together.
In Japanese, the term Kakehashi denotes a bridge between two cultures. Kyōdō suggests a collaboration or a combined effort. Both terms describe the spirit behind Fuji to Hood, the cross-Pacific festival held in Portland, Oregon, every other year. This year’s event on July 18th, 2026, promises to be bigger and better than before.
Somewhere between the last glow of sunset and the first appearance of stars lives Von Ebert‘s beautifully balanced dark lager, all mahogany shimmer and quiet confidence. Toasted bread crust and gentle caramel drift through the aroma while subtle roasted nuttiness adds depth without ever tipping into heaviness. The palate unfolds with soft malt richness, a faint cocoa-like shadow, and just enough sweetness to remind you that restraint can be its own form of indulgence. Then, like evening air sliding down a canyon wall, the finish arrives crisp, cool, and remarkably refreshing.
Glendoveer Golf and Tennis is turning 100 years old, and everyone’s invited to celebrate! Join the free block party on Saturday, June 20, from 4–8 p.m. at 14015 NE Glisan St. in Portland. The event will feature carnival attractions, interactive games, food, music, and more.
About three months ago, Von Ebert launched a fascinating experiment. They dropped the price on their gold-medal light lager, Clubhaus, to an astonishing three bucks. For a twenty ounce pour in their distinctive Clubhaus mugs. And not just on special hours or days—that’s the regular price. If you walk into any of the three Von Ebert locations, you can drink an imperial pint of beer for a price you’d have paid in, what, 1995?
Von Ebert Brewing is teaming up with Grand Fir Brewing to release Sacred Stone, a limited-edition American Lager that highlights a crisp, modern take on the style. Brewed at 4% ABV, the beer delivers bright notes of pineapple and lime layered over a clean water cracker malt backbone, showcasing a light yet expressive hop character. The collaboration was celebrated with a grill-out event in Portland, featuring barbecue dishes from local chefs alongside the seasonal release.

Grand Fir Brewing and Von Ebert Brewing have collaborated on an American Lager, but this isn’t your normal light crackery lawnmower beer because ‘Sacred Stone’ weaves in elements from New Zealand and Japan. Your first chance to try it and pick up cans of Sacred Stone is Thursday, May 28th, but on Saturday, May 30th, Von Ebert Brewing is hosting Grand Fir and The Bitter Root Club owner/chef Doug Adams for a cookout Collab with BBQ truck HarBQ for the official release party.
Before Living Häus Beer Co. filled the space with hanging greenery, pale wood, soft light, and the sort of calm Scandinavian-houseplant energy that makes you instinctively lower your voice, the Southeast Portland facility already carried serious Portland beer history in its walls.
Cinco De Mayo Beer (Portland OR) – May 4 is Cinco De Mayo and Von Ebert Brewing is celebrating things with announced the release of two new takes on the Mexican lager. Cinco de Mayo (Spanish for “Fifth of May”) is an annual celebration that commemorates the Mexican army’s unlikely victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, but in the states its primarily a cultural celebration that pairs well with the right beer.
The beer world leans into renewal today — old names finding their footing again, new flavors chasing fresh drinkers, and a steady current of collaboration, community, and quiet reinvention running through it all.
Von Ebert Brewing brewed a ‘From Dusk till Dawn’ series featuring both a Dark Mexican Lager and Pale Mexican Lager just in time for May 5
PORTLAND, Ore. — Today, Von Ebert Brewing announced the release of two Mexican Lagers just in time for Cinco de Mayo celebrations. Swing by the N. Von Ebert Brewing is releasing two Mexican style lagers that focus on balance and drinkability and subtle complexity just in time for Cinco de Mayo. The Dusk and Dawn pair are designed for both festive and everyday enjoyment (and they especially shine paired with bold Mexican cuisine). The beers’ debut also signals a new direction for the brewery as it continues to expand production and distribution and grow its lineup.
Cinco de Mayo isn’t Mexico’s Independence Day — that’s September — but a sharper, stranger flashpoint: May 5, 1862, when an outnumbered Mexican force held the line against the French at the Battle of Puebla. It wasn’t the end of anything. It was a refusal. A moment where grit outweighed expectation and the underdog didn’t blink. Which, honestly, feels like the exact energy you want in a glass — something balanced, resilient, quietly confident in its own structure.

Bradley Robinson, the Austin-based pitmaster behind the popular Chuds BBQ YouTube channel, managed to sum up the Portland barbecue scene fairly well after a whirlwind trip in July 2024.
“If you’re after that Franklin Barbecue brisket, ribs, sausage, that crafty Texas barbecue, go to Matt’s,” said Robinson. “Whereas Grasslands is a little more like LeRoy and Lewis, where they do brisket once a week, they’re doing a lot of specials and putting a lot of care into their sides.”
The figurative smoke ring running through my 2025 review of HarBQ, the barbecue food truck at Von Ebert Brewing’s North Portland headquarters, was an admission that, despite multiple visits, I had failed to sample the sliced brisket, the benchmark of modern American barbecue.
